Candidate Terms and Consent

EMPLOYSAFFAS CANDIDATE TERMS AND CONSENT (Version 3)

These terms are between you and EmploySaffas (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2024/468658/07) ("EmploySaffas").

1. Registering with EmploySaffas is free for candidates. EmploySaffas does not charge candidates any fee.
2. You confirm that the information and CV you submit are true and accurate.
3. You consent to EmploySaffas processing your personal information to assess your profile, to publish an anonymised version of it to approved employers, and to contact you about recruitment opportunities (POPIA, Act 4 of 2013).
4. Your name, contact details, ID number and CV are never shown to employers in your anonymised profile. When an employer requests an interview, EmploySaffas will ask you first, and will share your details with that named employer only if you agree to that specific request. The employer may be located outside South Africa.
5. Cross-border processing and sensitive information. Your information may be stored or processed outside South Africa by our service providers (Supabase – Ireland/EU; Resend – EU; Cloudflare – global; OpenAI – USA, if you choose automatic CV reading), and may be shared with employers located outside South Africa when you agree to an interview. We transfer it on the basis of your consent and of written agreements requiring these providers to protect it to a standard substantially similar to POPIA (POPIA s72). Your CV may contain sensitive personal information (for example health, religion or race); please remove anything you do not want processed.
6. Automatic CV reading (optional). If you choose this option, the text of your CV is sent to a third-party artificial-intelligence service (currently OpenAI) to pre-fill your professional information. Before the text is sent, we remove email addresses, phone numbers, ID numbers, links and your name where we can detect them. The provider's API terms state that it does not use this data to train its models. You must review and confirm all pre-filled information before you submit. If you do not choose this option, you enter your details manually.
7. You may ask to access, correct or delete your information, object to its processing, or withdraw your consent at any time by contacting employsaffas@gmail.com or info@employsaffas.co.za. If you withdraw consent, we will stop publishing your profile and stop sharing your information; this does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.
